Storytime introduces young children to reading and books!
Each week, our trained library staff and volunteers share stories, songs, and finger-play activities geared to certain ages. Parents learn how to foster six early literacy skills that are critical for preparing their children to read and write. These skills include:
- Knowing how to handle a book
- Hearing beginning sounds
- Knowing letters are different from each other
- Retelling stories and events
- Introducing new words
- Showing a joy of and interest in reading books
Storytimes we currently offer:
Fridays 10:30AM – Lil Learners* (ages birth-5)
Join us for a weekly Storytime with your little ones! Enjoy stories, songs, rhymes and fun activities that support early literacy skill development and help foster a love of reading in your children.
*Many taped live recordings will be made available online for future viewing. See the [Virtual Programs] tab above for our latest videos for pre-school viewers.
